As she neared her third millenium, the cursed mirror began to whisper that her youth and beauty were fading, that soon she would be an ancient hag. Then it told her how to preserve her youth through evil...

Neherenia was born with the natural power of the Lunar Royal House, but her realm, the Dead Moon, was a lesser one, and she had no Silver Crystal. However, she learned how to use mirrors to focus her natural ability and how to augment her power by stealing dream mirrors. Neherenia has no special senshi attack, but can cast a wide variety of spells, especially of the hypnosis and illusion type. She later obtained weapons of great destructive capability.

Neherenia's fatal flaw is her gross self-obsession. After thousands of years of self-worship, she has lost all sense of 'other.' Anyone who thwarts or obstructs her becomes the object of an irrational hatred. She casually destroys thousands of lives for minor advantages, not so much through active malice as for lack of any reason not to. Her great fear is old age. Neherenia has become so lost to reality, so hardened in solipsism, that in order to reclaim her to goodness, it would be necessary to wipe out her whole life and start over in childhood. Note: after devouring the dream mirrors, Neherenia developed vampiric features, including fangs.

In order to extend her own life and power, Neherenia robbed her subjects of their dream mirrors, transforming their into near-mindless lemures. In a rather bizarre stroke, she turned them into circus performers, freaks, and grotesques. However, she was sane enough to realize that her senshi would lose their value to her if she devoured their dreams. On the other hand, if she left them intact, they might oppose her activities. So she sealed their dream mirrors and their memories inside Tama balls which would serve as power foci for them. The Asteroid Senshi thus became the Amazoness Quartet. Of course, in sparing their mirrors, she allowed them to retain much of their free will.

CereCere is the leader of the Amazonesses, the Asteroid counterpart of Sailor Venus. In the Dead Moon Circus, she was an aerial performer. Her individual attack is unknown, but doubtless resembled the Crescent Beam. The group attack of the Asteroid Senshi is the 'Amazoness Jungle Arrow.' While her senshi powers were sealed, she usually used flower and plant attacks, focused through her yellow Tama ball. Personally, CereCere is lazy and vain.

VesVes is the Asteroid counterpart of Sailor Mars. In the Dead Moon Circus, she was an animal trainer and carried a whip. Her individual attack is unknown, but doubtless resembled the Fire Soul. While her powers were sealed, she liked to fight hand to hand. Her Tama ball was red. VesVes is violent, aggressive, rebellious, and arrogant.

JunJun is the Asteroid counterpart of Sailor Jupiter. In the Circus, she was an acrobat. Her individual attack is unknown, but doubtless resembled Supreme Thunder. She was an expert athlete and could also fight hand to hand. Her ball was green. JunJun was loudmouthed and disrespectful, but was also the only Amazoness to show any concern for their victims.

PallaPalla is the Asteroid counterpart of Sailor Mercury. Youngest of the four, she seemed very immature, constantly spoke in the third person, and could often be seem playing with toys. She also used toys as the basis of her attacks. Her Tama ball was blue. She was a cunning trickster and pickpocket, an expert at sleight of hand.

Zirconia was one of a race of demons, who used the accursed Dark Mirror to communicate with and ultimately ensnare Queen Neherenia. Ordinarily she acts as Neherenia's loyal servant. In appearance, she is a hag of incredible antiquity and ugliness. It is noteworthy that Neherenia sometimes showed signs of degenerating into a similar creature.

In the Circus, Zirconia acted as ringmaster and lieutenant of Neherenia. Her powers were slightly superior to those of an Amazon. She carried a power staff and was served by a winged eye.

For operations on Earth, more subtlety was required than the lemures were capable of. Neherenia and Zirconia transformed a tiger, a hawk, and a fish into humanlike servants. Tigerseye, an animal trainer, carried a whip. Hawkseye, a fire eater, could project flames as well. Fisheye was a tumbler and acrobat.

These wretched victims of their queen had lost all memory of their former lives and were wholly subsumed into their roles as performers/monsters. Their only remaining motivations were fear of the queen and a blind, malicious hatred of others. In effect, they were mere shadows of their long-dead selves. They were tough and versatile fighters, but easily destroyed.
